The Four Seasons Hotel is an historic Georgian manor house, set on a 500-acre estate near Fleet in Hampshire.

The five star hotel consists of 150 luxury guest rooms and suites, luxury spa and sport centre, conference facilities, restaurant and equestrian Centre. SVM BSD provided the MEP design consultancy services as part of the refurbishment of the north block front of house areas, the existing west block, front of house and kitchen areas and back of house facilities. This also included the design of services to three of the hotels speciality suites - Mildmay Suite, Ellis St. John Suite and William Godson Suite.

Challenge
One of the challenges was to keep disruption levels to a minimum whilst the hotel remained open. This also included trying to incorporate all modern services and IT systems into listed areas of the hotel without affecting building fabric and listed features. SVM BSD was also responsible for coordinating a large number of specialist IT, CCTV, security, audio visual systems and lighting control across an existing data network.

Solution
By working closely with the Interior Designer, Architect and Hotel’s Management team SVM BSD were able to develop a design that would meet the hotel’s high standards of services.

All meetings were chaired with the hotels engineers, specialists and the contractors to ensure close coordination of the services and programming of the works in an occupied hotel.

The Outcome
The hotel provides guests with modern services in an elegant country environment complimented by the new interior design to make them feel welcome and comfortable throughout their stay.
